It is September, the beginning of the best time of year – the “holiday season.” To me, the holiday season means October through and including New Year’s Day. All of the coolness and weather changes that move in, finally lighting up the fire place, the smell of homemade breads in the house, the beautiful colors of the falling leaves, and the anticipation of the upcoming holidays. All of it. As a native Miamian, I love summer and the beach, but as a person who missed out on experiencing the changing of seasons growing up, this time of year is truly spectacular to me.
Hiking during the Fall season is spectacular, too. Not only do the colors of the leaves paint a gorgeous picture all around you, but the breeze is cooler and more brisk, and the air just feels cleaner, doesn’t it? It is still warm in the Carolinas this week, but I know what is very close at hand. My favorite time of year, and all there is to do, see, feel, smell. I feel like a kid again every year!
